family memory book for 2014

have you heard of chatbooks? especially for all you instagrammers out there, it is an awesome app. you can easily print 60 pictures right from your instagram account into adorable little 6x6 books, and the best part? it is six bucks. and free shipping! crazy amazing, right? i am obsessed. i love having instragram and having a blog to document all the daily moments of our life but there is something special about a printed picture. and i am the first to admit that i am lousy at the picture printing part.

putting together little picture books helps me get my act together and get it done. we have made a few books in the last few years (mostly, in the first four months of e's life) and we love pulling them out and flipping through the memories. elinor is especially smitten with her "first month of life" book. she thinks that baby is the cutest. we collected pictures from her first month and made a keepsake book. we have a very well-loved copy. and we gave a copy to our family members from elinor on her first Christmas.

when it comes to picture printing, i have majorly slacked off this year. but with chatbooks - no excuses! i might even make a month-by-month series if i am feeling ambitious...but for now, i am going to collect some of my favorite "mama and me" pics along with some cute ones of ben and elinor...and the rare ALL three of us family shots and get the ball rolling. i hope to go through all of 2014 and close the year right. and i think it will be a nice tradition to start with elinor. taking time at the start of a new year to look back and remember. plus, it will be fun to see how much she has grown and highlight some special moments we shared. and from there, i hope to make it more of a thing. just collect and print every month or something. i am really going to pull it together in 2015, you guys.

and don't worry family! at six bucks a pop, i will print enough copies for all to enjoy. i just know you will want a 60 page book of our shiny faces... happy new year to you!
