progress & countdown: 26 weeks down & 98 days to go. double digits people. and next week marks 7 months pregnant AND the start of the 3rd trimester. okay but seriously, that seems wild. home stretch already? no way. he will be 18 years old in like, a week.

baby size: length of a green onion.

food & drink: nothing too fancy. lots of fruit and coconut water for breakfast to help me rehydrate after morning workouts and set a nice tone for the day. a girl can only drink so much water without getting bored...fruit tastes delicious and gives my body some extra moisture. lunch is usually a pile of veg and avocado or nuts and some kombucha. trying to keep things fresh and raw during the day and then enjoy a hearty plate of more robust stuff for dinner. i am all about the roasted potatoes these days and veggie tacos and spicy lentils with cauliflower. and crispy chickpeas. yes to those. i suppose i am having a bit of an indian and mediterranean moment. give me all the hummus!

bump stuff: oh, i have one of those. and it just keeps getting bigger.

highs: enjoying a lovely saturday as a family. just getting stuff done and relaxing a bit. we have been cooking up some tasty food and spending more time outside and getting in family date nights so life is good. everything feels like a high right now.

lows: nothing to report. i am in that second trimester bliss right now and savoring every moment.

new developments: the network of nerves in baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. he may now be able to hear both mama's voice and other people's voices as we chat. baby is inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid. these so-called breathing movements are essential for the development of the kings. these are also good practice for when baby is born an takes that first gulp of air. baby is continuing to put on fat. he now weighs approximately  1 2/3 pounds and measures 14 inches.

meaningful moments & hormones & feelings: as i mentioned, things feel good right now. i am sporting a legit bump. i am extra productive. family time has been great. i am planning and making lists, which always makes me happy. i am sleeping well (as long as the AC is cranking away to keep things super cool) and have a ton of energy. things seem balanced and peaceful and enjoyable.

superficial stuff: my hair is so thick, it is ridiculous. pregnancy hormones and prenatals are quite the combo. my nails are growing at warp speed too. i am feeling a tad on the pale side...i might need to expose the bump to some sun now that the weather is warmer.

looking forward to: the arrival of more bits for ridley's room. nesting is just the funnest.
