12 dates of Christmas

it is truly the most wonderful time of the year.  and my man and i are kicking off the season with our 12 DATES OF CHRISTMAS tradition.  i sure do love this.

we have had a family advent book since our first Christmas together and we have added activities to our traditions list each year.  and this was something that we started a few years ago.  a little something that is just for us.  taking our inspiration from the song, this is a simple and meaningful way of keeping some "true love" romance alive amidst the hustle and bustle.  setting aside special moments, big and small, to savor the season and act like turtledoves or partridges or pipers piping...

this is all about making magic from the mundane and taking time for us.  and we like to mix it up.  sometimes, just simple things like trimming the tree with a mug of something festive or watching a movie all cuddled up on the couch.  and sometimes, we indulge in more elaborate date nights consisting of fancy dinners.  whatever it takes to slow down, savor, and make a memory.
