putt-putt

IMG_1769 IMG_1770 IMG_1771 IMG_1773 IMG_1764 on saturday, we met up with there crew from ben's office for a playday. on the agenda: a little putt-putt. we grabbed our gear and popped ridley in the sling and hit the "course". elinor was so excited to try her hand at golf. she picked out her own ball and told us all about how to hold the club (someone must be coaching her a bit on sleepovers. ahem, BooBoo.).

we took turns taking swings and after a few holes, elinor started to understand how the game works. liiiiiike how you don't retrieve the balls immediately after someone's turn. and, you know, how the objective is to get the ball into the hole and not just smacking it all willy-nilly.

she waited patiently while we took our turns and she cheered us on. and with a little help from papa, she kind of killed it. three hole-in-one's! she smoked us. she was so proud of herself. and it was such fun to watch her learn and try and handle her successes...and failures too.

so, in case you are keeping score, the following activities are on the list of potential hobbies and lessons for the little miss:

  1. violin
  2. dance
  3. swim
  4. french
  5. soccer
  6. golf
  7. possibly tennis

sheesh. we are going to work on narrowing that down. i mean, she can't have more pastimes than both her parents combined, right? that's just craziness. perhaps we can start slow with some violin with papa and golf with BooBoo. and naturally, i can help her with her sweet dance moves.

and in other news... this little lad was perfection. he is a professional crib napper so i wasn't sure how he would feel about napping on the go. but, silly me to doubt the magic of the sling. he chilled for the first part of our excursion and then took a nice snooze on the back nine. i even managed to get some decent strokes in while he napped. and the overcast weather made things rather pleasant. i didn't sweat myself silly, even with a sling and hot baby on me! so, all in all, not too shabby.
