a comfortable date night in + a giveaway with quinn popcorn and target
with a new little one in our life, we have found ourselves spending more time at home. we did get a mini brunch date OUT together on the weekend and plan to do much more of that in the coming weeks...but the last month has been all about making the most of our time together at home. and really, there is something pretty fun about a date night in. you can still make it feel special even if you aren't going anywhere. the trick is to plan it out and give it as much thought as a "real" date night out on the town. perhaps, a theme? a theme is always a good idea.
so i wanted to share a fun idea for a comfy, cozy, tasty date night in. one. grab a good cookbook and all the necessary ingredients and make yourself a tasty and comforting meal to enjoy together. maybe by candlelight or maybe on tv trays in the living room. whatever tickles your fancy. two. get yourself a soft and cozy blanket so you can curl up on the couch and cuddle during the movie. three. get a candle flickering away. preferably, something seasonal and with a good wick. four. pop in a movie. something funny or romantic or maybe a good documentary. and try to go for something that is on-theme. five. pull out some fancy but relaxed stemware and pour yourself a little something. maybe a crisp white or a sprightly rosé. six. grab a big (and pretty, please) bowl for snacks. which brings me to... seven. pop some popcorn and dig in.
