bébé numéro deux | 31 weeks
progress & countdown: 31 weeks down & 63 days to go. officially 8 months pregnant!
baby size: a coconut.
food & drink: the diet was pretty much the same with two fabulous moments added in: an ice cream indulgence and a date night with my man. some creamy and dreamy frozen yumminess as well as a dinner with plenty of crusty bread and fondue made for an especially happy mama and happy baby this week.
bump stuff: the belly has grown significantly and is feeling much heavier. it is sticking out like crazy now. i am kind of hoping we only have about three more pounds of baby to go...but, we'll see! just keep growing and packing on those delicious baby rolls, little man.
highs: good food and projects and sunshine and a lovely springtime breeze! these are the days...
lows: not much to report. i am enjoying this bliss right now before those final weeks make me feel anxious for baby to arrive and zap me of my remaining energy.
new developments: baby measures over 16 inches long and weighs almost 3.5 pounds. this is major growth spurt time, which you can probably see in the big bump that has majorly filled out in the last few weeks. baby can turn his head from side to side, and his limbs and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates under the skin.
meaningful moments & hormones & feelings: most days, i can almost forget that i am pregnant. i am used to the bump and i just go about my business...and then i am hit with amazing reminders. elinor talking about baby brudder. buying bitty baby things. kicks and somersaults moving my entire belly. looking at the calendar or seeing a countdown that reminds me we are only two months away. i can't believe we will be welcoming another little one into our home. wild, i tell you. and SO exciting.
superficial stuff: just feeling large and in charge.
looking forward to: more stuff arriving for ridley's room. i have been really good at pacing myself so i can enjoy nesting just a few things at a time. creating a nursery and stocking up on all those baby goodies will never get old.
