oh, the places you'll go!

IMG_0310 IMG_0309 IMG_0306 IMG_0305 IMG_0308 IMG_0307 oh hey there! sorry i have been such a slacker over here on the blog. ben even said something about it yesterday. he was all, "yeah, you haven't been posting very much..." that's when you know you have a problem. okay, okay. i will get back on my game.

do you ever have one of those weeks (or perhaps, a few weeks in a row) when you just don't feel inspired? the creative juices aren't flowing? i am in that right now. no man's land. i blame it on september. darn this month! would you just be fall already? i think i am currently trying to make my way through the waiting place from oh, the places you'll go! it is that feeling exactly. and i am determined to bust out.

NO! that's not for you!

somehow you'll escape all that waiting and staying. you'll find the bright places where boom bands are playing.

i need me some boom bands, asap.

on my quest for boombandiness, we took a trip to the farm for some food trucks and frolicking and all around fun. we met up with some friends and their three darling, spunky daughters. we grabbed a table and then we grabbed some grub from our favorite, uprooted kitchen. food was consumed. stories shared. and we listened to some live music while the clouds rolled and breeze blew. then, it was like every child in the area got the memo to meet on the lawn and run around like crazies. it was pretty funny. there was grass rolling and stick throwing and dancing and twirling and yelling. kids are noisy. and our careful and perfectionista daughter even got in on the fun. she was the most controlled and cautious of all. but that's just her. she explores and plays in her own way. it is so interesting to watch her interact with the world around her. especially grass. she is so not sure about grass. oh and wild children. she's not sure about them either. there was one girl running around with a stick and elinor gave her the most disapproving look. oh, elinor. you funny girl. i can't wait to see what you grow into.

you have brains in your head. you have feet in your shoes you can steer yourself any direction you choose. you're on your own.  and you know what you know. and YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

you'll look up and down streets.  look 'em over with care. about some you will say, "i don't choose to go there." with your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.

and you may not find any you'll want to go down. in that case, of course, you'll head straight out of town.

it's opener there in the wide open air.

out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you.

and when things start to happen, don't worry.  don't stew. just go right along. you'll start happening too.
