bonjour, baby!

bonjour baby

oui oui oui. it’s baby number three!

we are over the moon and already eager upon eager to meet this little one. we are delighted and honored to have the opportunity to grow our family once again. thank you God for this generous gift.

a quick walk down first trimester lane: we saw the plus sign on august 23 and then entered stealth mode for the first stretch to keep things under wraps (the kids have some very loose lips and eager hearts). we told them about a week before we shared the news with the whole family. it was such fun to let the kids in on our little secret. they were SO excited. elinor peppered us with very practical questions and ridley let us know that he can’t wait to find out if he will be a brother or sister (not quite how that works, buddy). it was such a sweet moment. the following weekend, we shared the good news with the rest of the family during a family dinner gathering, complete with artistic rendering (pictured above) announcement. it also means we have our first official piece of art for baby’s room.

i am 16 weeks along and baby is due on may 3. i have been consistent with chiropractic appointments and it has made such a difference. so far, so good. my body knows the drill and is acting accordingly. and i do notice an earlier “pop” than with ridley man. maybe that’s a signal that we have a baby girl on board. or prehaps, it is just my “advanced maternal age” (eye roll). we have gone to two midwife appointments so far and have an ultrasound check in two weeks (now taking boy or girl bets). at this point, baby has been given the nickname of “baby pumpkin” and depending on how the naming exercise goes (we have boy names figured out… girl names are tricky, though), that might have to be baby’s name. creating a suitable name for a human is difficult stuff.

thank you for all the love and support you have shown to us in instagram-land. it’s back to sharing weekly bump updates and letters to baby. here we go again...
