baby whitehouse number three is a... (plus, a name)

we are so excited to add another little lad to our cast of characters. from what we can see, he is perfect and incredibly active. that sounds correct to me. we got to sneak a peek of baby and in addition to counting fingers and toes and taking some snapshots of various body parts, we were able to clearly see one particular body part that let us know we are expecting a boy. elinor and i are feeling a tad outnumbered but she has decided that we are okay with the arrangement

mama, you are still the queen and i am the princess. that’s how it should be. AND, a baby sister sounds fun too but i know that i am already pretty great at being a big sister to a boy.

and ridley… well, he is THRILLED with the news. he was (not so secretly) hoping for a brother so he can teach him how to build things and play and dress fancy with a bow tie. i love our incandescent little prince. he’s going to be the best big brother. and one of the best parts of learning that we are welcoming a boy to our family is being able to call him by name…

albert means “noble and bright” which is the perfect combination of the meanings of elinor’s and ridley’s names. and earnest means “with sincere and intense conviction”. albert and “ernest” are also family names, in honor of my maternal grandfather and paternal grandfather and great-grandfather. we love an old-fashioned heritage name mixed with meaning. and we can’t wait to get to know albert (albie) better and see all the ways that he expresses his name.

deuteronomy 6:5

you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

philippians 1:20

according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing i shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
